Green Gram or Green Moong Dal Porridge

Green gram Porridge

It is important to serve different food to your baby to develop its taste at an early age. I have tried many different dals and grain with various nutrients.  Green gram is again a good source of protein for the baby.

Ingredients:

  • 3 Tbs Whole Green Gram
  • 1 big clove of garlic
  • ½ tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 cup Water

How to make Green Gram Porridge For Babies

Be sure to sterilize all the utensils needed for making the puree by boiling them in hot water.

Wash green gram well and pressure cook it with garlic and cumin seeds.  Cook for about 5 whistles for it to be done well.  Open the pressure cooker after the steam is released by itself.  Take a large spoon and mash it well to make it easy swallow for the baby.

Pour it in a bowl and serve it to your baby.

Adequate breastmilk can be mixed into it until the desired consistency is achieved.  It also adds extra creaminess making it easier for the baby to swallow.

Breastmilk is best for baby. Please consult your pediatrician before introducing new foods into your child’s diet.
