Mango jelly recipe for kids

Summers are upon us and it only means one thing!! Mangoes!!! The only thing bearable about Indian summers is that the markets are flooded with yummy mangoes.

Mango shakes and cakes are quite popular with everyone in my family but, this time I wanted to try something new and unique so thought writing an article on how to make mango jelly at home.

Mangoes are very healthy – and delicious! Loaded with fiber, pectin and vitamin C. Vitamin C boosts the immune system and keeps you healthy and strong. A recent research shows that the antioxidant present in mango provides protecting against cancer. Do you really need any more reasons to enjoy this fruit during summers!!

Aamras is again a very popular drink during summer. Indians, especially my mother had this misconception that mangoes make you fat. It’s not mangoes that are the culprit, but the huge amounts of sugar that is added to drinks like aamras.

Readymade jellies are available are full of artificial colors and preservatives, and being a natural parent I don’t prefer them. Think about it? Do you really want a hyper active kid on a sugar rush cooped in at home during summer vacations? Processed food has lasting impact on our kids health which we are only beginning to realize. It may not be possible to avoid at all times – begin by avoiding when you can.

Kids are quite fond of fruit jellies so make this at home, and it will be a hit! You can also make this quick and easy jelly with the help of your kids. Involving kids in the meal preparation makes them appreciate the ingredients and they will eat better!

You can also serve it with this homemade mango ice cream. Also Mango Jelly can be used to make Mango Falooda. Mango Souffle is also a yummy dish that can be garnished with Mango Jelly!
