Healthy sprouts bhel

Sprouts bhel is an easy, refreshing and healthy snacks recipe. It is a healthy twist to the famous bhel chat.The bhel is prepared using green moong sprouts. It is a good chat option for picnics, road trips, and kids snacks box. This snacks option can be prepared quickly, you need few ingredients to prepare Healthy sprouts bhel.

Sprouted Moong beans are high in protein, magnesium potassium, folate, and zinc. They keep the tummy full and are loaded with dietary fiber. Due to the high nutrient content sprouted moong beans are beneficial as well as easy to digest.

How to sneak in nutrition
You can use ready made sprouted moong dal, it is always better to sprout the green moong at home. You can also replace puffed rice with brown puff rice.

Ingredients:
1 cup sprouted – Whole Green Moong beans
1 Cup brown puffed rice
1 medium Onions chopped finely
1medium Tomatoes chopped finely
1/2 boiled potato roughly chopped
2- Green Chillies split
1/2 tablespoon – Lime Juice
2 tablespoon – Mint Chutney
Turmeric powder- 1/2 teaspoon
1/2 cup – Sev or Bhujia (Optional)
Salt – to taste
Chaat Masala – to taste
Cilantro – to garnish

Method to sprout moong beans
Take one cup of prout moong beans and wash 2-3 times in purified water.
Take a container and cover the moong beans with water, cover it up to 2 inches above the moong beans. Close the container and allow the moong beans to soak in water for 12 hours or over night.
Next day, discard all the water. Tie the beans in a muslin cloth for 1-2 days.
You will be able to see sprouts germinating from the moong beans.

Method to prepare Healthy Sprouts Bhel

Cook the whole moong sprouts for 1 whistle with salt and turmeric powder. Discard the water.
Take a large mixing bowl and mix all the ingredients well, except sev and lemon juice.
Squeeze the lemon juice and mix again.
Garnish with sev and cilantro leaves while serving.
Enjoy!
