wheat dalia porridge

As a mom who has just begun weaning, I am sure you are eager to try many different dalia and porridge recipes for your babies and watch them enjoy these healthy preparations full of love! Wheat Dalia porridge for babies is highly nutritious and can be fed from the 7 month onwards.

The healthiest food for your baby is breast milk without any doubt.  It is loaded with fatty acids, antibodies, nutrients, protein.  It not only helps the baby but it’s important for the mother as well to breast feed as it reduces the risk of breast, ovarian, cervical and endometrial cancer, and incidences of postpartum depression and diabetes.

I am sure we all know the benefits of breast feeding but we also agree that after 6 months breastfeeding needs to be supplemented with solids like fruits, vegetables and grains.

Once the baby is 6 months old it needs a lot more than just milk to grow into a healthy toddler.  Many pediatrician recommend grains like wheat, oats, ragi, sabudana (Sago) etc for the babies in forms of porridge.

I have gone through a million recipes trying and tweaking to make sure to that my baby is getting wholesome nutrition. It is always better to keep offering a variety of porridges so that your baby does not get bored.

The first and foremost is Wheat, as it is a nourishing grain which contains vitamins, minerals and nutrients.  It is a good source of manganese, fiber, vitamin B (B1, B2 and B3)

How to make Wheat Dalia For Babies

Be sure to sterilize all the utensils needed for making the puree by boiling them in hot water.

Put the Dalia in a pressure cooker, add 1 cup water to it and cook for 3 whistles.

After the steam is released naturally, pour it in a bowl and let it cool.  Add the almond powder to it.  You can try mixing it with banana or apple puree for extra flavor and sweetness.

Adequate breastmilk can be mixed into it until the desired consistency is achieved.  It also adds extra creaminess making it easier for the baby to swallow. Wheat dalia porridge for babies is now ready to be served!

Please Note:

Breastmilk is best for baby. Please consult your pediatrician before introducing new foods into your child’s diet.
